Law enforcement authorities in Denton County are investigating a recent car accident that left three people injured. This crash occurred Saturday, Sept. 18, near Justin. A total of four vehicles were involved.

What happened?

According to reports, around 10 p.m., a 50-year-old male was operating his vehicle on State Highway 114, heading eastbound on the wrong side of the road. He hit a pickup truck in the process. The truck then struck another car while his vehicle collided head-on with a sedan.

The drivers of the truck and the automobile it hit were uninjured in the crash. The driver of the sedan — a 23-year-old female — along with a passenger in her car were both hurt and transported to an area hospital via ambulance for medical treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.

The driver responsible

Outside the responsible party’s name and age, little is known about him. Authorities have not identified factors that contributed to the crash, and it is unclear if any criminal charges have been filed against him. This individual was severely injured and airlifted to a medical facility. His current condition is also unknown.

Compensation available

Texas is an at-fault state, meaning the victims may file claims with the responsible party’s insurance provider in order to seek compensation for their losses. This is something they may not want to do on their own, however. Insurance providers are known to pay out as little as possible, meaning they won’t get everything they need or deserve to cover the damages sustained. Thankfully, they can turn to an experienced personal injury for assistance negotiating with the insurance company or, if necessary, litigating the matter in civil court.
